Humanism is a stand based on philosophy and ethics that helps to highlight the human qualities in an individual and collective manner involving thinking in a critical manner giving importance to rationalism over superstitions. This idea of humanism played a great role in the art of Renaissance. Earlier the Renaissance art was dominated by religious subject but the humanist approach made it possible for the artists to include certain secular subjects that were taken from the epic stories from Classical mythology. This reflected personal interests of people unlike before.
